According to the Council's internal regulations and rules of procedure, the Assembly is responsible for developing the general plan for the Council and its committees, and for ensuring that reports submitted by the committees meet all procedural and regulatory requirements, thus guaranteeing the smooth flow of sessions and focusing discussions on the core legislative and oversight issues.
Strengthening the oversight role and keeping pace with Vision 2030
This active engagement within the Shura Council aligns with the comprehensive development drive underway in the Kingdom as part of Vision 2030, where the Council plays a pivotal role in modernizing the legislative framework and overseeing the performance of executive bodies. The referral of annual reports from government agencies reflects the Council's active oversight role in ensuring efficient spending and high-quality government performance.
Furthermore, the review of international agreements and memoranda of understanding reflects the Kingdom's proactive foreign policy and its commitment to building strategic international partnerships that serve national interests.
