King Salman Relief Center distributes food baskets in Berber, Sudan

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, continued its tireless efforts to provide assistance to its brothers and sisters in Sudan. A new batch of urgent food aid was distributed in Berber locality, River Nile State. In the field, the Center's team distributed 700 food baskets directly targeting the most vulnerable families and internally displaced persons who were forced to leave their homes. This contributed to providing food security for 4,550 individuals, as part of the "Madad Sudan" project, which aims to bridge the food gap.
Crisis context and humanitarian response
This aid is of paramount importance and comes at a critical time given the exceptional and dire circumstances facing the brotherly Sudanese people as a result of the escalating humanitarian crisis that has cast a heavy shadow over all aspects of economic and social life. These conditions have led to widespread displacement towards relatively safer states such as River Nile State, placing immense pressure on local resources. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's response aims to alleviate these challenges to basic living conditions and food supplies, reflecting the deep fraternal and historical ties that bind the Saudi and Sudanese peoples.
Continuous air and sea bridge
Since the outbreak of the humanitarian crisis, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been unwavering in its provision of urgent logistical and relief support. It has established air and sea bridges to ensure aid reaches those in need across various Sudanese states. Official statistics indicate that 13 relief planes and 60 large ships carrying tons of food, shelter materials, and medical supplies have arrived to date. Saudi support has not been limited to food baskets alone, but has encompassed a comprehensive package of aid including environmental sanitation programs, community support initiatives, and volunteer medical operations. Furthermore, strategic agreements have been signed with UN and international organizations to maximize the impact of the aid and ensure it reaches the most vulnerable groups.
Figures reflect the scale of the donation
The total value of these massive humanitarian efforts has exceeded US$125,566,000, a figure that reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to regional stability and alleviating the suffering of those affected by conflicts and disasters. This support is an integral part of the Kingdom's global humanitarian mission, in line with Vision 2030, as it consistently strives to be at the forefront of nations providing aid to those in need and supporting Arab and Muslim peoples during times of hardship. The continued flow of this assistance underscores the wise leadership's commitment to standing by Sudan until it overcomes this crisis. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center operates according to professional mechanisms and international standards that ensure aid reaches those who need it most efficiently and transparently.
