Farewell to pilgrims with gifts at the Haramain High-Speed Railway station in Mecca
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance in Makkah, represented by its Events and Initiatives Unit, implemented a unique initiative entitled “A Commendable Endeavor” at the Haramain High-Speed Railway in the Holy City. This blessed step was taken to bid farewell to the pilgrims with heartfelt feelings of love and appreciation after God enabled them to complete their Hajj rituals with ease and tranquility. The initiative reflected the authentic Saudi hospitality and the Kingdom’s ongoing care for the visitors of the Holy Mosque.

The train station was filled with a spirit of faith, warmth, and joy as departing pilgrims were bid farewell with roses, commemorative gifts, and copies of the Holy Quran before boarding their vehicles. This kind and humane gesture reflected the exceptional care that the Kingdom's authorities dedicate to enhancing and enriching the pilgrims' spiritual experience, leaving a positive impression that will accompany them on their journey home. This initiative is part of a series of programs and activities aimed at showcasing the Kingdom's exemplary service to the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, and facilitating their spiritual journey in every way possible.

Whereas the journey between Mecca and Medina once took days and weeks of arduous travel by camel and ancient overland caravans, it now takes only two hours and a few minutes thanks to the mega-projects implemented by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Haramain High-Speed Railway as a testament to this historic transformation, representing one of the largest rapid transit projects in the Middle East, linking the two holy cities with Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City, and providing a safe, fast, and environmentally friendly means of transportation befitting the pilgrims and in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
