Hajj Season Plan 1447 AH: Visa Issuance Dates and Pilgrims' Arrival Dates

In a proactive step reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to developing its services for pilgrims, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has revealed the detailed timeline for the work of Hajj affairs offices for the 1447 AH Hajj season. The Ministry confirmed that the issuance of Hajj visas will officially begin on February 8, 2026, representing a significant leap forward in early planning mechanisms to ensure an exceptional and smooth Hajj season.

Timeline and preparation phases

The ministry explained that preparations for this season began very early, starting on 12 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH (June 2025) with the submission of the initial arrangements document. According to the announced plan, the preparations will proceed through the following stages:

  • 1 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1447 AH: Launch of the preparatory contracting phase for housing and basic services.
  • 20 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447 AH (October 12, 2025): The deadline for concluding preparatory meetings and announcing the registration of pilgrims in their countries.
  • January 2026: Closure of housing contracts in Mecca and Medina and transportation services.
  • February 8, 2026: The actual start of issuing Hajj visas.
  • 1 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH (18 April 2026): The first groups of pilgrims begin arriving in the Kingdom.

Digital transformation and the Kingdom's Vision 2030

This early announcement is perfectly aligned with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , which prioritizes serving pilgrims. The operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season relies entirely on digital solutions, specifically the "Nusk Masar" platform and the electronic wallet. This digital transformation not only aims to expedite procedures but also ensures financial and contractual transparency, eliminating the disorganization that some missions faced in the past, thus facilitating the pilgrim's journey from the moment they consider performing the pilgrimage until their departure from the Holy Land.

The strategic importance of early planning

Announcing the Hajj schedule well in advance carries significant strategic implications both locally and internationally. Internationally, it gives Hajj affairs offices in various countries ample time to arrange for their pilgrims, book flights, and organize pre-departure awareness and health programs. Locally, it allows the Kingdom's private sector (hotels, transportation companies, and catering providers) to enhance their preparedness and improve services to accommodate the anticipated numbers, thereby strengthening the infrastructure in the holy sites.

Towards a safe and easy Hajj season

The Ministry concluded its statement by reaffirming its motto of “Pilgrimage with Tranquility,” urging all relevant authorities to strictly adhere to the specified dates. This meticulous organization is expected to facilitate the accommodation of the increasing number of pilgrims while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, further solidifying the Kingdom’s leading position as a unique global model in crowd management and the organization of major religious events.
