Preparations for the 1447 AH Hajj season: Training 1500 guides to serve pilgrims

As part of early and intensive preparations to ensure the success of the 1447 AH Hajj season, the Center for Guidance of Buses Transporting Pilgrims from Abroad launched a strategic initiative in cooperation with the Institute of Research, Studies, and Consulting Services at Umm Al-Qura University, and under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. This pioneering training program aims to qualify and train 1,500 guides and administrators through more than 7,500 hours of intensive training. These hours focus on equipping personnel with the necessary skills and competencies to provide the highest quality services to the pilgrims, reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to facilitating the Hajj journey and making it a comfortable, safe, and spiritually enriching experience.
Historical and institutional development of services for pilgrims
Historically, Hajj services have undergone radical transformations, evolving from the individual and traditional efforts of the old guides to a well-organized, institutionalized system managed by specialized government and private sectors. Over the decades, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has dedicated all its material and human resources to developing the infrastructure in Mecca and the Holy Sites. With the increasing number of pilgrims annually, the need for a precise and scientifically organized transportation and guidance sector has become paramount. Therefore, training personnel today is a continuation of a long-standing Saudi approach that prioritizes serving pilgrims, transforming the guidance process from simply providing directions to an integrated system encompassing healthcare, crowd management, and advanced technological services.
Details of the training packages for a successful Hajj season of 1447 AH
To ensure exceptional performance during the 1447 AH Hajj season, the Bus Guidance Center's training program targets guides and administrators, equipping them with a set of officially approved training modules from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. This educational system comprises four main modules: the "Welcome Module," focusing on reception and hospitality skills; the "Crowd Management Module," addressing crowd management and safe group movement; the "My Health Module," providing trainees with the fundamentals of first aid and preventative healthcare; and finally, the "Comprehensive Skills Module," which refines the guide's leadership qualities. In addition, staff are trained on the professional use of the "Guide Me" smart application, a significant advancement in the technological tracking and guidance of buses.
Strategic dimensions and expected impact locally and internationally
This training program is of paramount importance and has a far-reaching impact on several levels. Locally, it contributes to developing national human capital and creating professional seasonal job opportunities for Saudi youth, enhancing their expertise in crowd management, volunteer work, and community service. Regionally and internationally, providing professional and high-quality services positively impacts the experience of hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from around the world. This excellence in service reinforces the positive image of the Kingdom as a leader of the Islamic world and the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. This integrated effort stems from the role of academic and executive institutions in achieving the objectives of the "Guests of God Service Program," one of the most important programs of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to bring about a qualitative leap in the Hajj, Umrah, and visitation experience.
