During the government press conference, His Excellency the Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari, announced the launch of the third edition of the Hajj Media Forum, as part of the ongoing efforts of the Unified Media Operations Center for Hajj. This event represents a leading platform that brings together a select group of media professionals and content creators to cover the Hajj pilgrimage and convey the message of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the world, highlighting the digital advancements and high level of preparedness the Kingdom has achieved in serving the pilgrims.
The forum is scheduled to take place from 3 to 6 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH, corresponding to 20 to 23 May 2026. The Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Exhibition and Events Center will host this major event, thanks to a broad strategic partnership involving 25 entities from the public and private sectors, reflecting the significant institutional collaboration aimed at ensuring the success of this prominent media gathering.
Historical context and ongoing development at the Hajj Media Forum
Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been committed for decades to facilitating the work of local and international media in covering the Hajj pilgrimage. With technological advancements and the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, the need arose to institutionalize and unify this effort, leading to the creation of the Hajj Media Forum. The organization of this third edition builds upon the remarkable successes of the previous two, which saw the attendance of over 12,000 media professionals and visitors, and the participation of 150 local, regional, and international media outlets. These efforts resulted in the production of over 3,000 media reports, with the participation of more than 15 governmental and private entities, establishing a solid foundation from which this year's forum will launch towards even greater heights of excellence and innovation.
Strategic importance and expected impact of the event
This media gathering holds immense importance, extending beyond local boundaries to encompass regional and international influence. Locally, the forum fosters integration between various governmental and private sectors, unifying the Saudi media message. Regionally and internationally, it serves as a transparent and reliable platform, conveying to the Islamic world and the international community the Kingdom's tremendous efforts and transformative projects in serving pilgrims. Providing a comprehensive media environment that supports journalists in producing their coverage through interactive technologies ensures a true and positive portrayal of crowd management, advanced logistics, and security measures, reflecting the Kingdom's soft power and its exceptional ability to manage the world's largest human gathering peacefully and securely.
Creative events and areas to serve the guests of God
The forum features several supportive media zones, most notably a press briefing platform and a creative exhibition showcasing the transformation in services provided to pilgrims. It also includes the "Hajj Window," offering visitors a visual experience reflecting the spirituality of Hajj, and the "Transformation Exhibition," which presents transformative projects in a visually innovative way through creative pavilions. Major government and service entities are participating in this exhibition, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, the General Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, the Pilgrim Service Program, and the "Aman" initiative. The event is supported by digital infrastructure partner Salam Communications and main partner Lexus. In addition, fully equipped studios and a "Media Community" are available, providing a workspace for networking and exchanging expertise among media professionals.
