Hajj Gift distributes 1.5 million Iftar meals during Ramadan 1445

With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the Hajj and Umrah Gift Charity Association announced the launch of its operational plan for the "Iftar for the Fasting" project for the year 1445 AH, one of the largest seasonal humanitarian initiatives in the Kingdom. This year, the campaign aims to distribute more than 1.5 million Iftar meals in several key locations that experience high concentrations of pilgrims, primarily in Makkah and Madinah, as well as King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, border crossings, and the main roads used by Umrah pilgrims and visitors.

Historical background and religious significance

This project is an extension of a long-standing Islamic tradition that greatly rewards those who are fasting, as the month of Ramadan holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide. Communal iftar meals are a prominent feature of this blessed month, not only providing food but also embodying the highest ideals of social solidarity and brotherhood. These initiatives take on added significance in the holy sites, which attract millions of Muslims from diverse nationalities and cultures for Umrah and pilgrimage, making the provision of iftar meals a noble service that allows them to focus on worship and devotion.

Details of the association's operational plan

The CEO of the association, Engineer Turki Al-Hutairshi, explained that this year's operational plan was carefully designed to meet the increased demand during the holy month. He noted that the association expanded its distribution network and increased its capacity to ensure meals reach the largest possible number of beneficiaries. He added that "Hadiya" dedicated all its human and logistical resources to the success of this project through an integrated system that guarantees the quality of the meals provided and the safety of the distribution process. This was achieved through close cooperation with its partners from relevant organizations and the active participation of hundreds of male and female volunteers who form the backbone of the fieldwork.

Local and international impact of the initiative

The impact of this massive project extends far beyond the local sphere of serving citizens and residents; it encompasses a broad international dimension. By serving pilgrims from all corners of the earth, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presents a shining example of hospitality and generosity, reinforcing its position as the beating heart of the Islamic world. These efforts enrich the spiritual experience of pilgrims and visitors, leaving them with a lasting positive impression of the care the Kingdom provides to the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. These initiatives also reflect the integration between the government and non-profit sectors in achieving the goals of Vision 2030, particularly regarding enhancing the quality of services offered to pilgrims.
