The Hadhramaut National Council supports Saudi Arabia's statement on stability in Yemen

The Hadhramaut National Council announced its full and unequivocal support for the statement issued by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which addressed the recent developments and security situation in the Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra governorates. This stance reflects the strong alignment between the national vision of the people of Hadhramaut and the efforts led by the Kingdom to ensure the stability and territorial integrity of Yemen.
A responsible stance to protect national achievements
In an official statement carried by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the council described the Saudi position as “responsible,” stemming from the Kingdom’s consistent commitment to sparing the liberated governorates, particularly Hadramawt and Al-Mahra, the ravages of conflict and internal fighting. The council affirmed that the Saudi statement represents a strong safeguard for the interests of the people of the two governorates and a necessary step to prevent any uncoordinated military escalation that could threaten social peace and undermine the security gains achieved in the recent period.
General context and the importance of timing
These developments are of paramount importance given the geopolitical and strategic location of the Hadramawt and Al-Mahra governorates, which constitute Yemen's strategic depth and its most vital economic reserve. The Hadramawt National Council's actions come at a time of political and military tensions in the region, making Saudi intervention through diplomatic and political channels crucial in defusing crises before they escalate. The formation of the Hadramawt National Council itself is a historic step aimed at unifying the Hadrami voice and blocking any projects that do not serve the interests of the governorate's people.
The pivotal role of the alliance and the coordination of efforts
The Hadramawt Council commended the pivotal role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in close and continuous coordination with the United Arab Emirates, in containing the situation and restoring normalcy. The Council stressed the need to respect the authority of the local government, emphasizing the importance of the withdrawal of forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council that came from outside the two governorates, and the handover of camps and security headquarters according to organized military and security arrangements under the direct supervision of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, to ensure that no violations are repeated.
Rejecting escalation and supporting a comprehensive political solution
The council clarified in its statement that any military actions taken outside the institutional and consensual frameworks of the state constitute a serious violation of the national consensus and further complicate the already complex political and security landscape. The council called on all parties to exercise reason and logic and address their differences with wisdom and restraint, rather than resorting to violence.
The Hadhramaut National Council concluded its statement by affirming its full support for regional and international efforts, including those of the UN envoy, aimed at achieving a comprehensive and just political solution in Yemen. It emphasized that addressing the root causes of national issues must be done within a clear political framework leading to lasting stability and comprehensive peace, guaranteeing the rights of all Yemeni groups and preserving Yemen's security and stability.
