Qurayyat Airport traffic is expected to grow by 27% in 2025, driven by the second airports

In a move reflecting the rapid development of the air transport sector in Saudi Arabia, the Second Airports Group , the operator and developer of local and regional airports, announced record-breaking operational traffic figures for Qurayyat Airport during 2025. These results are a culmination of efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of services provided to passengers.
Figures reflecting rapid growth
Official statistics released by the airport authority show that Qurayyat Airport has exceeded 327,000 passengers since the beginning of 2025 until last November. This growth wasn't limited to passenger numbers; it also extended to aircraft movements, with the airport recording approximately 2,950 flights. Comparing these figures to the previous year, 2024, reveals a remarkable growth rate of 27.7%, confirming the success of the operational plans aimed at increasing capacity and attracting more flights.
Keeping pace with the national strategy for transport and logistics
This growth cannot be viewed in isolation from the broader context of Saudi Vision 2030, specifically the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents. Qurayyat Airport, with its strategic location in the Al-Jawf region of northern Saudi Arabia, contributes to enhancing domestic air connectivity and facilitating travel for citizens and residents, positively impacting economic and tourism development in the province and the region as a whole.
Global awards and a commitment to sustainability
In addition to numerical growth, Qurayyat Airport has achieved significant milestones in service quality and environmental sustainability, strengthening its position within the Saudi airport system. Among these achievements are:
- Customer Experience Accreditation: The airport has obtained Level 2 Customer Experience Accreditation issued by Airports Council International (ACI), which reflects the airport management’s commitment to applying the highest standards of comfort and well-being to travelers.
- Environmental Sustainability: The airport has received the ACA Carbon Accreditation from Airports Council International Europe, in addition to an environmental permit from the National Center for Environmental Compliance. These certifications confirm the commitment of the Second Airports Cluster to adopting environmentally friendly practices and reducing carbon emissions, in line with the Saudi Green Initiative.
Advanced infrastructure to serve travelers
Al Qurayyat Airport spans a vast area of 921,341 square meters and is equipped with a comprehensive range of modern facilities and services that cater to the needs of diverse passenger segments. The Second Airports Cluster Company continuously develops these facilities to ensure smooth operations and provide a superior and safe travel experience, contributing to the Kingdom's civil aviation sector's goal of reaching 330 million passengers annually by 2030.
