Uganda events conclude and Ethiopian Days begin, in global harmony

The Ministry of Media today concluded with remarkable success the Ugandan cultural events, which were held as part of the second edition of the "Global Harmony" initiative. This unique initiative is organized by the Ministry in strategic partnership with the General Entertainment Authority and the Quality of Life Program, and is hosted by Al-Suwaidi Park, one of the main destinations of the Riyadh Season this year.
Over the past two days, Al-Suwaidi Park transformed into an open-air stage for African arts, where Ugandan folk groups presented dazzling performances that showcased the depth and richness of Ugandan cultural heritage. The audience enthusiastically engaged with the rhythms of traditional drums and stringed instruments characteristic of the Great Lakes region, creating a bridge of human connection between visitors and Ugandan culture.
Dimensions and strategic objectives of the Global Harmony Initiative
The "Global Harmony" initiative is more than just a series of fleeting entertainment events; it aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance quality of life and build a vibrant society. The initiative primarily seeks to highlight the lives of residents in the Kingdom, showcasing their cultural diversity and their contributions to the social and economic fabric, thus reflecting the Kingdom's image as a haven of diversity and peaceful coexistence among different peoples.
The Ugandan events witnessed a large turnout from members of the Ugandan community and their families, who found in these events an opportunity to express their national identity and share it with the Saudi community and the rest of the residents, amidst an atmosphere of joy and interaction with the musical performances that blended authenticity and modernity.
Ethiopian Cultural Days kicks off: A journey to the Horn of Africa
In a related development, all eyes will be on the launch tomorrow of the three-day "Ethiopian Cultural Days," promising a rich cultural experience for visitors. Ethiopian artists, singers, and influencers are scheduled to participate, presenting performances that reflect the unique ethnic and cultural diversity of Ethiopia.
The upcoming events will include displays of traditional Ethiopian clothing in vibrant colors and distinctive designs, as well as the presentation of popular Ethiopian cuisine, most notably the traditional coffee ceremony, an integral part of Ethiopia's social heritage. The event will also showcase the country's most prominent handicrafts and agricultural products, offering visitors a chance to explore various aspects of daily life in Ethiopia.
These events are of particular importance in promoting cultural and popular relations, as they provide Ethiopian residents with an opportunity to showcase their economic and social activities within the Kingdom, and emphasize the role of arts and culture as a soft power that brings peoples closer and promotes the values of mutual understanding and respect in light of the Kingdom’s openness to the cultures of the world.
