Booking Hajj packages for 1447 AH: Payment dates and new cancellation policies

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the start of the Hajj package booking for the 1447 AH season. The Ministry invites citizens and residents with valid residency permits who wish to perform Hajj to register promptly through the "Nusk" application or the dedicated website. This step follows the initial data registration phase, which began on the sixth of Ramadan, as part of the Ministry's efforts to organize the Hajj season and facilitate procedures for pilgrims.
Digital transformation and the development of the Hajj system
come for booking Hajj packages within the context of a historic transformation in the Hajj and Umrah system, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to facilitate the journey of pilgrims and enrich their religious and cultural experience. After decades of traditional procedures, the Kingdom has transitioned to a fully integrated digital system that ensures transparency and fairness in the distribution of opportunities. The "Nusk" application is one of the most important outcomes of this transformation, as it has become the unified portal that allows pilgrims from inside and outside the Kingdom to complete all procedures with ease and convenience, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to harnessing technology to serve those visiting the Two Holy Mosques.
Payment mechanism and crucial dates for booking Hajj packages
The ministry clarified precise details regarding the payment mechanism for fees to ensure the seriousness of the booking, as payment deadlines were divided based on the booking time:
- The 72-hour period: is granted to applicants who issue a booking invoice before the date of 27 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH.
- The 6-hour period: The deadline is significantly reduced to only 6 hours for bookings made starting from 28 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH.
This time reduction, as the Hajj season approaches, aims to provide the opportunity for the largest possible number of beneficiaries, and to ensure that seats are not reserved without payment, as the reservation is automatically cancelled if payment is not made within the specified period.
Organizational dimensions and facilities for pilgrims
This meticulous organization of the Hajj package booking has positive implications at both the local and regional levels. It helps eliminate fraudulent campaigns and the black market that plagued pilgrims in the past, and ensures early planning for the season, which is reflected in the quality of services provided in the holy sites, including accommodation, transportation, and catering. These measures underscore the commitment of the relevant authorities to providing a safe and reassuring environment for pilgrims, enabling them to focus on worship and performing the rituals without being preoccupied with logistical challenges.
Cancellation and Refund Policies
Regarding the cancellation policy, the Ministry has established clear guidelines to protect the rights of all parties. Beneficiaries can cancel their reservations and receive a full refund without any deductions before the Hajj permit is issued, up to and including Shawwal 30, 1447 AH. After the permit is issued, cancellations are subject to a specific discount policy based on the application date. The Ministry emphasized that no refunds will be issued for cancellations submitted from Dhul Hijjah 1, 1447 AH until the platform closes, and urged everyone to carefully review the terms and conditions before finalizing any contract.
