Dammam Culture and Arts Association Programs 2026: Events and Exhibitions

The Dammam Culture and Arts Association announced the launch of a comprehensive package of cultural and artistic programs and activities for the new season of 2026, affirming its continued leading role in enriching the cultural landscape of the Eastern Province. The first of these events is scheduled to begin on January 4th, with the association launching its activities with a reading and discussion of the book "Between Obstacles and Aspirations," a step aimed at promoting a culture of reading and constructive criticism among intellectuals and those interested in literature.
Diverse intellectual and artistic activities
As part of its efforts to diversify cultural content, the association will host the 53rd session of its "Socrates Coastal Café" discussion series the day after its launch, January 5th. The session will focus on everyday questions in our lives, opening the door to profound philosophical and intellectual dialogues that resonate with the realities of individuals and society. In parallel, the association announced the extension of the Eastern Province Calligraphers Exhibition until January 8th. This exhibition, which has been met with widespread acclaim, includes training workshops and specialized lectures highlighting the aesthetics and secrets of Arabic calligraphy, reflecting the association's commitment to preserving this ancient Islamic art and developing the skills of its practitioners.
A cultural context that aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030
The Dammam branch of the Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts operates within the broader national movement, aligning its programs perfectly with the goals of Vision 2030, particularly the Quality of Life Program, which aims to empower the cultural and artistic sector. The Dammam branch is one of the most active in the Kingdom, historically serving as a nurturing ground for young talent and a platform for launching creative endeavors in theater, visual arts, music, and literature. This ongoing momentum reinforces the Eastern Province's position as a cultural and tourist destination, leveraging its demographic and geographic diversity, which positively impacts its creative output.
2025 Harvest: Laying the Foundation for a Promising Future
The association concluded its 2025 activities with remarkable success, presenting the children's poetic play "The New Horizon," which focused on instilling aesthetic values in young people. It also organized a high-quality cultural evening entitled "Philosophy and Theater," which was attended by a distinguished audience. During the evening, the Chairman of the Board, Abdulaziz Al-Smaeel, presented an important critical perspective, pointing out that philosophy in theater is brilliantly manifested through live and dynamic theatrical action, rather than through the direct and rigid narration of philosophical concepts. This underscores the association's commitment to providing profound artistic content that respects the audience's taste and stimulates critical thinking.
The association continues its approach aimed at creating a sustainable creative environment that combines authenticity and modernity, and opens its doors to all segments of society to participate and interact with the arts in all their forms, which promises a cultural season full of achievements in 2026.
