The Governor of Riyadh concludes the Founding Day events at the Palace of Justice
In a patriotic atmosphere brimming with pride and a deep sense of belonging to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the celebrations for "Founding Day" concluded in Riyadh, under the patronage and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Region. These distinguished events were held in Al-Adl Square in the Qasr Al-Hukm area, jointly organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Riyadh Region Governorate, culminating two days of intensive heritage and cultural activities.
The symbolism of the place and the depth of history
The choice of the Qasr al-Hukm area to host these events was not a coincidence, but rather a reflection of the profound historical and political significance of this location, which represents the beating heart of Riyadh and the center of governance throughout the various phases of the Saudi state. His Royal Highness the Prince of Riyadh and His Royal Highness the Deputy Prince, accompanied by a number of princes and dignitaries, viewed the dazzling visual displays adorning the mural of the majestic Al-Masmak Palace, which stands as a testament to the epics of the Kingdom's unification and the heroic deeds of its imams and kings.
The tour included a visit to the “Makhyal Ahl Al-Awja” exhibition, which presented a unique visual and documentary narrative, showcasing pivotal moments in the history of the Saudi state since its founding by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 AD, thus giving visitors the opportunity to draw inspiration from the stories of struggle and construction that spanned three centuries.
The Saudi Ardah: A Heritage of Pride
In a scene embodying the unity between the leadership and the people, Prince Faisal bin Bandar and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman participated in the traditional Saudi Ardah dance, a prominent element of the Kingdom's intangible cultural heritage registered with UNESCO. This year's Ardah was distinguished by its largest group performance, featuring the Diriyah Band, as everyone recited timeless patriotic poems, most notably "Salman bin Abdulaziz" and "Riyadh Al-Amjad," in an artistic display reflecting authentic Saudi identity.

In a statement on this occasion, the Governor of Riyadh praised the great support provided by the wise leadership – may God protect them – for commemorating this cherished occasion, emphasizing that celebrating the Founding Day is a renewal of the pledge and a testament to the imams and kings who established this great nation. His Highness pointed out that the comprehensive development and prosperity the Kingdom enjoys today are the fruits of those sacrifices and the solid foundations laid three centuries ago.
The events witnessed a wide public turnout from different age groups, as citizens and residents flocked to enjoy the heritage corners and live shows that blended the authenticity of the past with modern presentation techniques, which contributed to enhancing historical awareness among the emerging generations and linking them to their ancient cultural heritage.
