The first Taraweeh prayer at the Prophet's Mosque: a spiritual atmosphere and exceptional services
The corridors and courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina witnessed, this evening, a large influx of worshippers and visitors to perform the Isha prayer and the first Taraweeh prayer on the first night of the holy month of Ramadan this year, amidst an atmosphere full of spirituality and tranquility, surrounded by the prayers of the believers and the recitations of the Holy Qur’an that echoed throughout the Prophet’s Mosque.
The worshippers were led in the Isha prayer and the first three sets of Tarawih prayers by Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Buaijan, with a melodious and humble voice, while the last two sets of prayers and the Shafa’ and Witr prayers were completed by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Barhaji, as hands were raised in supplication to God Almighty to accept the fasting and prayers of the Muslims, and to bring this holy month back to the Islamic nation with blessings and prosperity.

The Taraweeh prayers at the Prophet's Mosque hold a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide, as their eyes and hearts turn towards Medina, the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In preparation for this important annual event, the General Authority for the Care of the Prophet's Mosque completed all operational, technical, and logistical preparations according to a well-thought-out plan aimed at providing the utmost comfort for worshippers. These preparations included preparing the outer courtyards and mosque expansions, and furnishing them with thousands of luxurious carpets to accommodate the increased number of worshippers, which exceeded expectations on the first night.
Authorities also intensified water distribution services, providing bottles of blessed Zamzam water and distributing them systematically throughout the corridors and courtyards. Additionally, air conditioning and ventilation systems were operated at maximum efficiency to ensure a cool and refreshing atmosphere conducive to worshippers' focus and devotion. The plan also addressed organizational aspects, with supervisors and security personnel deployed to manage crowd flow at entrances and exits, ensuring smooth movement and preventing overcrowding. This reflects the great importance that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia places on serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.
