The Ras Tanura Municipality concluded its Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Ras Tanura, which achieved exceptional success this year. The festivities, held at Al-Abeer Park, witnessed a large turnout, with approximately 16,700 visitors from the governorate and surrounding areas. This reflects the community's eagerness for such recreational festivals that enhance the joy of Eid and bring families together in an atmosphere of happiness and delight.
A history filled with joy: Eid in the Eastern Province
Celebrating holidays is an integral part of authentic Saudi culture, with the Kingdom's cities adorned to welcome these joyous occasions. In the Eastern Province, specifically during Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Ras Tanura, these traditions are showcased in their most splendid form. Historically, the Eastern Province Municipality and its affiliated municipalities have been keen to commemorate religious and national holidays through comprehensive community programs. These efforts are an extension of the Kingdom's vision to strengthen social cohesion and provide a safe and attractive recreational environment for families, making Eid an opportunity to renew social bonds and bring joy to the hearts of young and old alike.
A variety of entertainment options to suit all family members
The activities offered were distinguished by their great diversity, catering to all age groups. The festival included a distinctive array of recreational activities, most notably 15 giant inflatable games that attracted children and provided them with a safe space to have fun. The events were not limited to physical games; they also included folk performances reflecting authentic heritage, and interactive competitions with prizes and free gifts that brought joy to the attendees. Local producers also had a prominent presence, with 24 booths dedicated to showcasing their diverse products, including traditional foods, sweets, and handicrafts, thus contributing to the local economy.
The economic and tourism impact of the success of local festivals
The success of such festivals extends beyond mere entertainment, encompassing significant economic and tourism dimensions. Attracting over 16,000 visitors, both citizens and residents, underscores the critical importance of developing the domestic tourism sector. Locally, these events stimulate commercial activity and support small businesses and home-based producers. Regionally, they enhance Ras Tanura's position as a preferred tourist destination for families in the Eastern Province during holiday seasons. This approach aligns perfectly with the objectives of the Quality of Life Program, a key component of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to improve the lifestyle of individuals and families and build a society where its members enjoy a balanced way of life.
Ongoing efforts to enhance quality of life
In this context, the Mayor of Ras Tanura Governorate, Engineer Mohammed Al-Jassem, affirmed that the municipality always prioritizes participating in the community's celebrations and events. He explained that these festivities serve as a gift from the municipality to the residents, stemming from its social responsibility. Engineer Al-Jassem indicated that the municipality will continue its efforts to create an atmosphere of happiness and joy by organizing and developing more future events. These developmental steps come with the guidance and continuous follow-up of His Excellency the Secretary of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd Al-Jubair, to ensure the provision of the best recreational and tourism services that meet the aspirations of citizens and residents.
