The Kingdom's historical efforts in managing health seasons
Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has placed great importance on managing religious seasons, most notably the Hajj pilgrimage and Eid al-Adha. For decades, the Ministry of Health has established a comprehensive system for managing massive gatherings of people, with its medical crowd management system in the Holy Sites considered one of the most successful models globally. This long-standing tradition of providing healthcare during religious holidays reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to serving pilgrims, citizens, and residents alike. The Ministry updates its strategic plans annually to ensure that hospitals and health centers are fully prepared to handle any emergencies that may arise during these critical periods.
Continuity of medical care and its local and international impact
The decision to regulate leave extends beyond mere administrative impact, encompassing crucial local and international dimensions. Locally, this regulation ensures the uninterrupted provision of vital healthcare services to patients across the Kingdom without any disruption or staffing shortages. Regionally and internationally, maintaining high-quality operations during the Hajj and Eid al-Adha seasons sends a reassuring message to millions of Muslims worldwide, underscoring the Saudi healthcare system's capacity to safeguard public health and deliver exceptional medical care to pilgrims from all corners of the globe.
Work and compensation mechanisms during the holiday period
To ensure the smooth operation of services, the Ministry of Health has emphasized to all entities involved in providing healthcare services the necessity for those assigned to work during the holiday period to adhere to their duties. It stressed the importance of accurately recording attendance and departure times through the approved electronic system, "Hayak." In return for this commitment, the Ministry guarantees the rights of its employees by compensating those assigned with alternative working days, in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. In closing, the Ministry urged all its staff to review the details and act accordingly, which will contribute to the efficient organization of workflow and ensure the continuous provision of healthcare services around the clock to serve the community and pilgrims.
