The Eastern Province Municipality reviews its 2025 achievements and honors the winners of the "Masarat" competition

In a move reflecting its firm commitment to achieving sustainable development goals, the Eastern Province Municipality showcased its service and operational achievements for 2025 during an awards ceremony honoring the winners of the "Masarat" initiative for institutional excellence. The event was held under the patronage and in the presence of the Mayor of the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubair. This event culminates the municipality's diligent efforts to enhance the urban landscape and elevate municipal services.
A strategic context that aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030
These achievements cannot be viewed in isolation from the significant transformation underway in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030, specifically the Quality of Life Program, which aims to improve the lifestyle of individuals and families and build a society where its members enjoy a balanced way of life. Municipalities play a pivotal role in this context, as municipal work has shifted from simply providing traditional services to creating an integrated urban environment based on humanization, digitalization, and environmental sustainability, a vision clearly embodied in the Eastern Province Municipality's 2025 strategy.
Significant leaps forward in services and environmental oversight
The Municipality's Services Agency revealed remarkable performance figures and indicators for the year, focusing its efforts on developing the waste management system using modern technologies, which contributed to increased public cleanliness. The region also witnessed a significant expansion of green spaces, in line with the "Green Saudi Arabia" initiative, aimed at enhancing vegetation cover and reducing carbon emissions. Regarding oversight, the Municipality implemented strict standards for commercial and food establishments to ensure public health, supported by smart solutions for monitoring and addressing violations immediately.
"Masarat" Award: Stimulating Institutional Competitiveness
As part of efforts to foster a competitive work environment, Engineer Fahd Al-Jubair recognized the winning departments in the "Masarat" initiative, launched by the Municipality to create a stimulating environment for innovation. The General Department of Community Participation achieved first place in the operational criterion, clearly demonstrating the Municipality's success in activating the community's role as a strategic partner in development. The General Department of Hygiene came in second place, followed by the General Department of Parks and Environmental Architecture, reflecting the integrated efforts across various sectors.
Expected impact: Towards smart and sustainable cities
Engineer Al-Jubair affirmed that these achievements are the fruit of the unlimited support provided by the wise leadership to the municipal sector. He pointed out that the future holds even greater development through the adoption of "smart solutions" that save time and effort and increase customer satisfaction. The focus on data quality and administrative governance, for which the Environmental Health and Markets departments were recognized, establishes a new phase of institutional work based on transparency and accuracy, thus enhancing the Eastern Province's position as a leading urban, tourist, and economic destination at both the local and regional levels.
