Prince of the Eastern Province Award for the Ideal Mother: Honoring 15 Stories of Struggle

In a humanitarian and social gesture reflecting the leadership's appreciation for the role and sacrifices of Saudi women, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, presented the winners of his Ideal Mother Award in its second edition. This honor, which recognized 15 exceptional mothers, marked a pivotal moment in the lives of the recipients, who described it as a "badge of honor" that erased the hardship of years of dedication and sacrifice in raising orphans and facing life's challenges.
Generous care and ongoing support for families
This recognition comes within the framework of the Eastern Province Emirate's commitment to strengthening family bonds and supporting the most deserving segments of society. The "Prince of the Eastern Province Award for the Ideal Mother" is one of the unique initiatives that aims to highlight exemplary mothers who have shouldered the responsibility of caring for orphans, transforming the circumstances of loss into national success stories. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which focuses on empowering women, enhancing quality of life, and supporting the non-profit sector to be an active partner in community development.
Feelings of pride and comfort
Speaking to Al-Youm newspaper, the winning mothers expressed mixed feelings of joy and gratitude. One of the winners, Umm Fahd, emphasized that the moment she ascended the stage to receive her award was a true "heart-restoring" experience, noting that this official recognition gives them tremendous moral support to continue their noble mission of raising a righteous generation that serves its religion and nation. She added that the award is not merely a commemorative shield, but rather a message of "support" from the leadership and society, affirming that their sacrifices are valued and cherished.
A story of perseverance and defiance
For her part, Wadha Al-Anzi, the first-place winner in the personal track, recounted the details of her inspiring journey to victory. She explained that not winning in her first attempt was not an obstacle, but rather a motivation for her to develop herself and her skills, engage in volunteer work and training courses, and ultimately return to claim first place in the second edition. Al-Anzi attributed this achievement, after God, to her children and their academic excellence, considering them her "true supporters" and the pillars upon which she relied throughout her journey.
Precise standards and strong competition
Regarding the organization, the head of the judging panel, Ibtisam Al-Humaizi, revealed the high level of competition for the award, with over 4,300 women applying. The applications underwent a rigorous screening process, resulting in only 81 files meeting the stringent criteria. Al-Humaizi noted that the second edition was distinguished by its expansion to include specialized tracks such as education, health, motherhood excellence, and social relationships, in addition to a "success stories" track to showcase inspiring experiences.
The award's inclusiveness and societal impact
Abdulaziz Al-Hajri, Deputy General Supervisor of the Award and Executive Director of the Jubail Orphans Association, confirmed that the award achieved broad geographical reach with the participation of seven associations from various governorates in the region, including Al-Ahsa, Hafr Al-Batin, and Jubail. He explained that the award aims to encourage institutional social work and measure its educational impact on orphans, thus contributing to building a cohesive and supportive society.
