Duba Waterfront: A distinctive winter tourist destination

With the arrival of the mid-year school break, the Tabuk region's Duba Governorate has become a favorite destination for families and visitors seeking warmth and relaxation. The governorate's waterfront is witnessing a surge in tourism, benefiting from the mild winter weather characteristic of the Red Sea coast at this time of year. The governorate's prime geographical location, coupled with its advanced infrastructure, has contributed to making it a major destination for leisure and recreation.

In this context, the Mayor of Duba, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Fahd Al-Anzi, explained that the Corniche and waterfront are the main attractions for tourism in the governorate, noting that the municipality has intensified its efforts to prepare public facilities to receive visitors. Among the most prominent landmarks frequented by tourists are the sandy beach of Al-Muqayti' Corniche, Duba Bay, the northern waterfront, and the "Lotus Square," a beautiful and recreational landmark spanning over 21,000 square meters. The square features football, basketball, and padel courts, as well as a tower dedicated to children's play areas, providing a comprehensive experience for all family members.

Historically, the province of Duba, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Red Sea,” holds immense strategic importance. It is not merely a modern tourist destination, but a historically significant port that has connected the Arabian Peninsula to the world's ports since ancient times. The province boasts stunning natural beauty, combining azure seas with pristine beaches, making it a pivotal attraction in the northwest of the Kingdom, especially given its proximity to mega-projects like NEOM. This will undoubtedly enhance its position on the regional and international tourism map in the future.

From a developmental perspective, this tourism boom in Duba aligns with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, specifically the Quality of Life Program, which aims to improve the urban landscape and provide diverse recreational options for citizens and residents. The increasing popularity of Duba's waterfront underscores the success of municipal plans to humanize cities and transform public spaces into vibrant attractions, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy and supporting the hospitality and services sector in the region.

Engineer Al-Anzi concluded his statement by emphasizing the ongoing development and improvement efforts. The municipality is working according to urban sustainability plans aimed at enhancing service efficiency, maintaining green spaces, and improving lighting and cleanliness to ensure a safe and attractive environment. Through these initiatives, Duba seeks to solidify its position as a leading winter destination, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and modern services that meet the aspirations of visitors and tourists from within the Kingdom and abroad.
