1.9 million beneficiaries of the "Doctor for Every Family" program in Makkah

The Makkah Health Cluster achieved a significant milestone in its healthcare transformation journey, with the "Doctor for Every Family" program reaching a record high in 2025, providing comprehensive curative and preventative services to approximately 1,891,327 beneficiaries. This achievement is the result of the efforts of an integrated system of medical teams that worked to strengthen primary care concepts and facilitate access to healthcare services for citizens and residents of the Holy City.

Numbers reflect the scale of the achievement

The Makkah Health Cluster revealed that these extensive services were delivered by 331 qualified medical teams, comprising a select group of distinguished healthcare professionals, including 484 physicians and 353 nurses. These teams worked within an integrated system linking various medical specialties, utilizing multiple service delivery channels that combined in-person visits to health centers with advanced remote virtual services.

These human resources and medical teams were distributed across 110 health centers covering the Makkah Al-Mukarramah area and Al-Qunfudhah Governorate, where direct communication mechanisms and digital technologies were activated to ensure a rapid and effective response to health needs, which contributed significantly to reducing waiting lists and increasing operational efficiency.

The context of health transformation and Vision 2030

This achievement is not an isolated event, but rather a core component of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the programs under the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to restructure the health sector into a comprehensive, efficient, and integrated healthcare system. The "doctor for every family" principle is a fundamental pillar of this modern healthcare model, aiming to connect every individual and family with a specific doctor and medical team. This ensures continuity of care and accurate monitoring of medical history, rather than dealing with illnesses on an ad-hoc or sporadic basis.

From treatment to prevention: A radical shift in concept

Alongside the traditional treatment approach, the program placed a strong emphasis on prevention, disseminating over 16 million awareness messages aimed at raising health and preventative awareness among the population. This proactive approach contributed to building an accurate health database of beneficiaries, serving the goals of the health transformation initiative, which shifts the focus from "pain management" to "investment in health.".

The Makkah Health Cluster's strategy aims to transform primary healthcare centers from traditional treatment centers that receive patients into proactive, preventative systems that place physicians in direct and continuous contact with families. This transformation will sustainably improve quality of life, facilitate the early detection of chronic diseases, and reduce the burden on referral hospitals and emergency departments, thereby enhancing the efficiency of healthcare spending and increasing patient satisfaction.

The Makkah Health Cluster continues its ambitious plans to expand the scope of the program to include all segments of society, with a continuous focus on improving performance and raising the professional efficiency of staff, to establish a modern Saudi health model that is easily accessible at any time and from any place, and achieves health security for the community.
