Digital operations room for Zakat and tax committees to monitor performance 2025

In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to accelerating the pace of digital transformation in the governmental and quasi-judicial sectors, the General Secretariat of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Committees revealed a package of qualitative achievements it made during the year 2025, which aim directly to raise the quality and efficiency of institutional performance.
A new generation of digital censorship
The most notable achievement was the launch of an advanced generation of performance monitoring dashboards, described as a fully integrated “digital operations room.” This system aims to enhance monitoring and implementation processes, improve data quality, and provide decision-makers with accurate and up-to-date information, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of performance levels and measuring business efficiency according to global best practices.
The context of digital transformation and Vision 2030
This development comes within the context of the significant transformation underway in the Kingdom as part of Vision 2030, which focuses on automating procedures, increasing spending efficiency, and improving the business environment. Zakat and tax committees play a pivotal role in stabilizing the investment climate by resolving disputes; therefore, developing their digital oversight tools will positively impact the speed of litigation and strengthen the principles of transparency and swift justice, thus reassuring both investors and taxpayers.
System details: 65 smart panels
The Secretariat explained that the new system features a modern design and precise standards that enabled leaders to access a panoramic view of the workflow. The number of upgraded performance dashboards exceeded 65, covering all workflows, most notably:
- The live executive dashboard: tracks cases from the moment they are registered until they are decided, with data updated every two hours to ensure an immediate response.
- Strategic Indicators Dashboard: To monitor targets approved by the Board of Directors.
- Judicial circuit boards: to measure the performance of primary and appellate circuits separately, creating a competitive environment that increases the speed of completion.
- Legal Studies Panel: To monitor the quality of technical and legal support provided to committees.
Implications for customer experience
The system also addresses the service aspect, including dedicated dashboards for monitoring the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and the call center. This technological integration ensures a rapid response to customer requests and reduces communication time, contributing to increased overall satisfaction with the services provided. It also underscores that digital transformation is not merely about technological tools, but rather a means to serve people and streamline procedures.
