Digital Tawaf and Iftar Permits for Fasting People 1447: Your Comprehensive Guide

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing an unprecedented transformation in the level of services provided to pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030, which places serving the guests of God at the forefront of its priorities. A key feature of this development is the reliance on smart digital solutions to facilitate the performance of rituals and organize charitable activities within the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina.
How to benefit from the digital mutawwif service
The "Digital Guide" service is one of the technological advancements aimed at enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals with peace of mind and precision, without the need for a human guide or paper prayer books. To ensure a smooth Umrah experience, the following steps can be followed:
- Starting the service: Log in to the app and click on the 'Start Service' option to review the features and details.
- Personalize the experience: Choose your preferred language to ensure you understand the instructions and prayers correctly, then click on the 'Start Umrah' icon.
- Guide: Go to the 'Umrah Rituals' section to view a comprehensive guide that explains the rituals step by step.
- Performing the Tawaf: When starting the Tawaf, use the available audio supplications, and use the digital "round counter" to ensure the accuracy of the count, while taking advantage of maps to determine the locations of the Tawaf.
- Prayer behind the Maqam: After finishing, press 'Next' to find out the locations of the prayer areas available to perform the two Rak'ahs of Tawaf behind the Maqam Ibrahim, peace be upon him.
- Sa’i and Tahallul: Proceed to the Sa’i ritual using the counter of the rounds and the designated supplications, until you reach the final ritual, which is Tahallul from Ihram, so that the message of the successful completion of Umrah appears to you.
Organizing permits for breaking the fast during Ramadan 1447 AH
In a related development concerning digital organization and governance, the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques announced the commencement of accepting applications for permits to provide iftar meals for fasting individuals during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. This initiative is being undertaken in cooperation with the national platform for charitable work, "Ihsan," and the "Nusk" humanitarian foundation, to ensure that iftar meals are provided according to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Application deadlines and requirements
The authority explained that applications are available during specific time periods to ensure smooth workflow:
- For individuals: Applications for the Grand Mosque will be accepted from the 3rd to the 5th of Sha’ban, and for the Prophet’s Mosque from the 6th to the 8th of Sha’ban.
- For non-profit organizations: Applications for the Grand Mosque will be accepted from 6 to 8 Sha’ban, and for the Prophet’s Mosque from 9 to 11 Sha’ban.
Strict regulations have been established for permits, allowing individuals only one trip (with a limit of 25 or 50 meals per day), while organizations are limited to a minimum of 10 trips. Payment is processed electronically through the "Ihsan" platform within 72 hours of application, reflecting the move towards full automation in serving pilgrims and promoting the values of social solidarity during the holy month.
