Deputy Governor of Makkah crowns winners of the Makkah Excellence Award 17

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, crowned the winners of the Makkah Excellence Award in its seventeenth session for the year 2025, in a joyous ceremony attended by a number of Their Highnesses the Princes, Excellencies, and directors of governmental and private entities.
Vision of the award and its strategic dimensions
Since its inception in 2008, the Makkah Excellence Award has been one of the most important national platforms aimed at establishing the principles of excellence in work and encouraging constructive competition among individuals and institutions in the region. The award's significance lies in its pursuit of more than just fleeting recognition; it strives to create a competitive environment that enhances the quality of services provided to citizens and residents and supports the Kingdom's development initiatives under Vision 2030. Throughout its history, the award has received over 5,300 submissions, reflecting the high level of engagement and the desire to present exemplary models that serve the region and visitors to the Holy Mosque.
List of winners in the 17th edition
The ceremony honored a selection of initiatives and projects that met the standards of excellence in the nine award categories, and the results were as follows:
- Humanitarian Excellence: This award was won by the campaign of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - for blood donation, in recognition of its great humanitarian impact.
- Excellence in Hajj and Umrah services: The Hajj Projects Management Office won the award for the "Serving the Guests of God" program, which aims to facilitate the pilgrims' journey.
- Administrative Excellence: The award went to the Supreme Hajj Committee in recognition of its exceptional organizational efforts.
- Economic Excellence: This award was won by the Jeddah Food Cluster, which is affiliated with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON).
- Urban Excellence: The "Jeddah Yacht Club" project was awarded the prize, as it represents a distinctive cultural and tourist landmark.
- Social Excellence: The award was shared between the "Sanad" City for Special Education in Makkah and the Saleh Abdullah Kamel Foundation for Humanity.
- Cultural Excellence: The General Entertainment Authority received it for the "Following in His Footsteps" project.
- Environmental Excellence: The Environment Fund won for its "Beach Treatment and Protection" initiative.
- Scientific and technical excellence: I went to the General Directorate of Education in Jeddah Governorate regarding the "Nafes Challenge" initiative.

The recognition of these entities underscores the integrated roles of the public, private, and non-profit sectors in the Makkah region. From environmental projects protecting beaches to technological initiatives in education, and from urban tourism projects to development initiatives, the award's comprehensive vision for development becomes clear.
