Defense and Transport Ministries sign memorandum of understanding in the railway sector

In a move aimed at strengthening integration between vital sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the World Defense Show in Riyadh witnessed the signing of a strategic memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Defense and the Public Transport Authority for joint cooperation in the railway sector. The memorandum was signed by His Excellency the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and His Excellency the Acting President of the Public Transport Authority, Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser.

Enhancing strategic and logistical integration

This agreement comes as part of government efforts to unify efforts and align national strategies. The memorandum primarily aims to enhance coordination between the Ministry of Defense and the Public Transport Authority regarding the use and development of railway networks. This collaboration contributes to harmonizing the requirements of the National Defense Strategy with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, to solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.
