Medina weather: Heavy rain and weather warnings

The National Center for Meteorology issued an important report warning of unstable weather conditions affecting the Madinah and its governorates. The report indicates that the region is expected to experience significant weather fluctuations accompanied by moderate to heavy rainfall, beginning tomorrow, Saturday. This forecast is part of the center's ongoing monitoring of weather conditions across the Kingdom to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.
Details of the rainfall situation and affected areas
Reports issued by the center indicate that the rainy weather will affect a wide area of the region, with light to moderate rainfall expected in Medina, Yanbu, Khaybar, Badr, Al-Hanakiya, Wadi Al-Fara, and Al-Mahd. Rainfall intensity and duration will vary among these governorates, so caution is advised when traveling between these areas.
In a related context, the center indicated that the governorates of Al-Ula and Al-Ais will be affected by rainfall that may reach heavy levels at intervals. These areas are of particular importance due to their geographical nature, which may contribute to the rapid flow of valleys and streams when heavy rainfall occurs.
Accompanying weather phenomena: wind and dust
The forecast is not limited to rainfall; the center also warned of accompanying weather phenomena that could affect horizontal visibility and travel safety. These phenomena include strong downdrafts that may exceed 60 kilometers per hour, leading to dust storms, as well as hail in some areas and high waves along the region's coasts.
The importance of warnings and safety procedures
These warnings are a crucial part of the early warning system designed to protect lives and property. Given the potential for flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas due to the expected heavy rainfall, the National Center of Meteorology has emphasized the need for caution. Everyone is advised to stay away from wadis and floodplains, and to avoid open areas during thunderstorms.
The center also urges everyone to follow the daily reports and real-time alerts issued through its official platforms, and to fully comply with the instructions of the relevant authorities such as the Civil Defense, to ensure optimal handling of these weather fluctuations that the Kingdom is experiencing during this transitional period of the year.
