Five gas stations in Saudi Arabia were shut down for violating regulations

As part of ongoing efforts to regulate the energy and logistics sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, field inspection teams, under the direct supervision of the Permanent Executive Committee for Service Centers and Fuel Stations, continued their intensive inspection tours. These campaigns, conducted in coordination with relevant government agencies, resulted in the closure of five fuel stations located within the Eastern Province, Asir Region, and Al-Ahsa Governorate.

Reasons for closure and observed violations

The closures resulted from these establishments' failure to comply with approved technical and operational requirements, as inspection teams identified a number of serious violations. Among the most prominent of these violations was the refusal of some stations to sell petroleum products to consumers despite their availability, a clear violation of regulations that guarantee the continuity of service and protect consumer rights. Other violations were also found concerning the level of services and public facilities within these stations.

An organizational framework aimed at improving the quality of life

These strict measures come within a broader context adopted by the Kingdom to improve the urban landscape and raise the quality of services provided to citizens, residents and visitors, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The fuel station and service center sector has witnessed a qualitative shift in recent years through the imposition of qualification requirements for operators, aimed at excluding unqualified operators and promoting investment in this vital sector by specialized companies capable of providing integrated services befitting the Kingdom’s status.

The importance and impact of continuous monitoring

These inspection campaigns are of paramount importance on both the economic and social levels. They ensure fair competition among investors by enforcing uniform standards and enhance public safety in these sensitive facilities. The Executive Committee affirms that inspection tours will continue throughout the year and will not hesitate to apply the prescribed penalties, including complete closure, against any facility that violates regulations or manipulates fuel quality and availability.

Communication and reporting channels

The Permanent Executive Committee called on all consumers to cooperate in reporting violations, emphasizing that consumer awareness is the first line of defense. Any observations or violations related to gas stations and service centers can be reported by calling the unified number ( 8001244777 ) or by using the "Partner Service" application available for download on smartphone app stores (Apple and Android). All reports will be handled with complete confidentiality and seriousness.
