In this context, Abdulmalik Al-Funaikh, President of the Saudi Club in Ireland, explained that the medical hackathon witnessed an exceptional level of interaction, creativity, and enthusiasm among the participants. He expressed his hope that this pioneering initiative would continue in the coming years, contributing to the establishment of a culture of scientific innovation among Saudi students studying abroad. He also extended his deep gratitude to the Saudi Club team in Ireland for their tireless efforts in organizing and ensuring the success of this prominent event, which combined scientific knowledge with practical application.

The hackathon, themed “The Hajj Emergency: Every Second Counts,” highlighted the critical importance of rapid response and the development of innovative technological and medical solutions to the health challenges associated with massive gatherings, particularly during the Hajj season. The event's significance lies in its anticipated impact on multiple levels. Locally, it contributes to enriching the Saudi healthcare sector with practical ideas that enhance pilgrim safety. Regionally and internationally, it presents a model for managing medical crowds, reflecting the Kingdom's pioneering role in mass gathering medicine. The event witnessed fierce competition with the participation of seven teams, along with a notable presence of students from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, reflecting a high level of regional cooperation and knowledge exchange. The hackathon was held as part of the third annual meeting of the Saudi Medical Association in Ireland, which took place at the Saudi Cultural Attaché's office in Dublin, under the leadership of the association's president, Dr. Saja Al-Hawl. This scientific event aimed to provide an interactive platform bringing together students, specialists, and experts in the healthcare sector to exchange visions and ideas.
The hackathon was generously sponsored by the Saudi Medical Association in Ireland and the MindXBridge Research Foundation. Participating teams were evaluated by a high-level judging panel comprised of leading medical professionals: Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Anzi, Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology; Dr. Naif Al-Muajjal, Consultant in Interventional Cardiology; Dr. Maisam Al-Balahid, Resident Dentist; and Dr. Mariam Al-Zayer, Resident Pediatric Dentist. At the conclusion of the competition, Team MedLink was awarded first place for its outstanding innovation, while Team Najda secured second place, and Team Manhal came in third. The event concluded with a strong affirmation of the ability of young Saudis to develop pioneering medical solutions.
