Income adjustment in the Citizen Account: Disclosure steps and compensation

The Citizen Account Program in Saudi Arabia continues its pivotal role as a cornerstone of social and economic support, aiming to mitigate the direct and indirect impacts of various economic reforms. As part of its commitment to data accuracy and ensuring that support reaches those who are truly eligible, the program has outlined the official mechanisms for correcting income data in cases of inaccurate reporting, whether for the primary beneficiary or dependents.

The importance of data accuracy in the Citizen Account

Accurate income disclosure is a prerequisite for the continued disbursement of support and to ensure its uninterrupted provision. These directives come within the framework of the program's efforts to enhance transparency and fairness in the distribution of financial support. The Citizen Account relies on submitted data to assess eligibility and determine the monthly entitlement for Saudi families, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to efficiently direct government support to the most vulnerable groups.

How to amend income disclosure

The program outlined easy electronic steps via the online portal to correct incorrect data, which are as follows:

  • For the main beneficiary: Log in to the personal account, then go to "Beneficiary Profile", select "General Data", then modify the income field and save the data.
  • For dependents: Access the "Beneficiary File", then select "Dependents' Data", modify the income of the dependent in question, and then save the changes.

Cases of retroactive compensation

In a related context, the program, through the "X" platform, clarified the details related to the retroactive disbursement of financial compensation, which is divided into two main cases:

  1. Financial objections: If the beneficiary’s financial objection is accepted, he will be retroactively compensated for the period due immediately upon approval.
  2. Eligibility objections: Upon acceptance of an eligibility objection, the beneficiary is reinstated to the next payment cycle. Regarding retroactive compensation in this case, the program has confirmed that each case is reviewed individually according to the applicable regulations and is not automatically disbursed upon acceptance of the objection.

Update bank account

The program also provided high flexibility in managing beneficiaries' bank data, as bank accounts can be easily changed or modified via the official application through the following steps:

  • Log in to the Citizen Account application and go to "Beneficiary File".
  • Click on the "Bank Account" icon.
  • Enter the new IBAN number and make sure it is correct, then press "Save".

It is worth mentioning that the Citizen Account Program, since its launch, has been continuously working to develop its electronic services to facilitate procedures for citizens, thus ensuring the continuity of direct financial support for beneficiary families and helping them cope with the burdens of living.
