Blood donation campaign in Al-Ahsa to boost medical supplies

The Al-Mubarraz branch of the Al-Ahsa Charity Association launched its ninth blood donation campaign in Al-Ahsa, in direct cooperation with the Al-Ahsa Health Cluster. This pioneering humanitarian initiative aims to bolster the medical supplies in the region's hospitals and promote a culture of volunteerism and humanitarian work among community members, with the active participation of community leaders and specialized medical staff from King Fahd Hospital in Al-Hofuf.
The importance of sustaining blood donation campaigns in Al-Ahsa and their health impact
This campaign is of paramount importance as it directly contributes to meeting the growing needs of blood banks in the province. Dr. Abdulmonem Al-Hussain, Director of Centers at the Al-Ahsa Charity Association, explained that the field arrangements and efforts undertaken in cooperation with the Health Cluster are in the best interest of patients and aim to meet the needs of healthcare facilities. For his part, Dr. Qasim Al-Alwan, Director of Support Services at the Al-Ahsa Health Cluster, pointed out that the partnership between the health sector and the non-profit sector represents an effective community model that ensures the sustainability of vital medical supplies to save lives in emergencies and complex surgical procedures.
Comprehensive preventive care for the elderly and adults
In addition to blood donations, the campaign is expanding to offer high-quality preventative and educational services. A key program is the shingles vaccination campaign targeting senior citizens over 50, under the slogan "50... and the best years are ahead." The site also features a dedicated awareness corner called "You're Again," which focuses on raising awareness about the importance of basic immunizations for adults, contributing to improved public health and the prevention of infectious and chronic diseases in the local community.
A history of humanitarian giving and cultural cohesion in Al-Ahsa
This ninth edition builds upon a long history of charitable and health initiatives in Al-Ahsa Governorate, reflecting the values of social solidarity deeply rooted in Saudi identity. The event extended beyond the medical field, featuring a unique cultural integration through a dedicated platform showcasing Al-Ahsa's rich heritage. This section displayed artistic sculptures depicting the region's folk traditions, designed and created by artist Salim Boujbara, connecting developmental and humanitarian work with the authentic local identity of Al-Ahsa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Donor reception times and geographical location
The campaign welcomes donors and visitors at the Bir Al-Najh Center, located in the Al-Masoudi neighborhood of Al-Mubarraz. The event continues to provide its services until Saturday evening, operating for four hours daily starting at 4:30 PM. All necessary medical equipment and qualified personnel are available to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone participating in this noble humanitarian and national endeavor.
