In a move reflecting its unwavering commitment to developing higher education in the region, the University of Applied Sciences in the Kingdom of Bahrain has officially announced the opening of registration for two new postgraduate programs: a PhD in Accounting and a PhD in Business Administration. This announcement comes as part of the university's strategic direction to enhance scientific research and provide the Gulf and Arab markets with highly qualified academic and professional talent.
A strategic vision that keeps pace with Bahrain's economic aspirations
The introduction of these programs is not merely an academic addition, but rather part of a broader context aligned with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which places education and innovation at the heart of its sustainable development priorities. Educational institutions in the Kingdom, with the support of the Higher Education Council, are striving to transition towards a knowledge-based economy, where PhD holders play a pivotal role in driving change, shaping strategic decision-making, and providing innovative solutions to the complex economic challenges facing today’s business environments.
In this regard, Professor Waheeb Al-Khaja, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education and the General Secretariat of the Higher Education Council for their continued support, noting that this step enhances the university's standing as a leading academic institution. He emphasized that the collaboration with the World Islamic Sciences and Education University in Jordan – one of the region's most prestigious institutions – aims to ensure the quality of educational outcomes and the exchange of academic expertise to serve the Gulf labor market.
Academic partnership to promote scientific research
For his part, Professor Hatem El-Masry, the university president, explained that the new programs were meticulously designed to combine theoretical grounding with practical application, enabling researchers to address real-world issues in the finance and business sectors. Professor Ahmed Abu-Jari, Dean of Scientific Research, added that these programs provide a comprehensive research environment supported by international partnerships, opening up broad horizons for scientific publication and building global professional networks for students.
In detailing the programs, Professor Ziad Zureikat, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, explained that the PhD program in Accounting focuses on contemporary financial issues, while the Business Administration program aims to prepare leaders capable of innovation and strategic planning. He noted that joint supervision with the World Islamic Sciences and Education University ensures students receive academic guidance from a select group of professors in the region.
Golden opportunity and scholarships
To encourage academic excellence, the university has announced a 20% scholarship for students who register in the coming weeks to celebrate the launch of these programs. This initiative presents an exceptional opportunity for those wishing to pursue their academic journey and obtain a doctorate from a prestigious and accredited institution, thus enhancing their future career and leadership prospects.
