The 78th Saudi relief plane arrives to support Gaza via El Arish Airport

Today, the seventy-seventh (78th) Saudi relief plane, operated by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, arrived at Al-Arish International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as part of the ongoing Saudi air bridge to provide relief to the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The dispatch of this aircraft comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect them - and in direct coordination with the Ministry of Defense and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo, to ensure that aid arrives as quickly as possible.

Details of the relief shipment

The plane is carrying a massive shipment of diverse humanitarian aid, including complete food baskets and shelter kits for those affected who have lost their homes. The cargo is currently being unloaded in preparation for its transfer by truck into the Gaza Strip, where it will be distributed to those in need who are suffering from extremely difficult humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing aggression and crippling blockade.

Saudi Air Bridge: A Firm Commitment and Ongoing Support

The arrival of the 78th aircraft reflects the continued and uninterrupted flow of Saudi aid, embodying the Kingdom's leading role in global humanitarian work and its historically steadfast support for the Palestinian cause on all levels. Saudi aid has not been limited to food supplies; previous flights have included ambulances, specialized medical equipment, medicines, and shelter materials, underscoring the comprehensive nature of the Saudi humanitarian response to the urgent needs in the Gaza Strip.

The importance of aid in light of the current crisis

This aid is of paramount strategic and humanitarian importance at this time, given the severe shortage of basic resources in Gaza. These supplies contribute to strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviating the humanitarian crisis that threatens the lives of thousands. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre is a vital arm in this operation, overseeing the process to ensure that the aid delivered meets the actual needs on the ground, in coordination with international organizations and the Palestinian and Egyptian Red Crescent Societies.

Through this continued support, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affirms that it will spare no effort in standing by its brothers in Palestine, while calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to ensure the permanent and sustainable opening of humanitarian corridors.
