Violators of border security and environmental regulations were apprehended in Jazan and Hail

As part of the ongoing field efforts of the Saudi Ministry of Interior to enhance security and protect national assets, the patrols of the General Directorate of Mujahideen were able to launch preemptive strikes against violators of regulations in the Jazan and Hail regions, including violations affecting border security and others related to attacks on vegetation cover.
Details of the Jazan operation: A crackdown on human traffickers
In the first operation in the Jazan region, field patrols of the General Directorate of Mujahideen successfully apprehended a Saudi citizen involved in transporting six Ethiopian nationals who had violated border security regulations in his vehicle. The incident was dealt with immediately by detaining all parties and initiating preliminary legal procedures. The violators were referred to the relevant authorities, while the citizen involved in the transport was transferred to the Public Prosecution.
This operation comes as part of intensified border security measures to prevent the infiltration of illegal residents, given the serious security and social implications. These seizures underscore the vigilance of security forces in combating attempts to smuggle people or facilitate their movement within the Kingdom.
Deterrent penalties await those involved
The official spokesperson for the General Directorate of Mujahideen reiterated the stern warning to anyone contemplating compromising national security by facilitating the entry or transport of violators of border security regulations. He clarified that the penalties in this regard are extremely severe, with prison sentences reaching up to 15 years and fines of up to one million riyals, in addition to the confiscation of the vehicle and accommodation used to house the violators, and public shaming of the perpetrator. These acts are classified as “major crimes warranting arrest,” as they violate honor and integrity and infringe upon the sovereignty and internal security of the state.
Environmental protection in Hail: Combating illegal logging
In a related matter concerning the protection of natural resources, patrols from the General Directorate of Mujahideen in the Hail region apprehended a citizen for violating environmental regulations. He was found in possession of quantities of locally sourced firewood offered for sale. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
This operation is particularly significant given the Kingdom's strong focus on protecting vegetation and combating desertification, in line with the goals of Vision 2030 and the Green Saudi Arabia initiative. The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with environmental authorities, is working to prevent the sale and marketing of locally produced firewood and charcoal, whether in traditional markets, on roadsides, or even through online platforms, in order to curb the phenomenon of illegal logging that has depleted the Kingdom's environment for many years.
Call for community participation
The security authorities concluded their statement by urging citizens and residents to cooperate in reporting any violations related to residency, labor, and border security regulations, or environmental violations, by calling the number (911) in the Makkah, Riyadh and Eastern regions, and the numbers (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions, stressing that all reports are dealt with in complete confidentiality.
