22 Hajj violators apprehended before entering Mecca

As part of ongoing security efforts to ensure the safety of pilgrims, Hajj security forces thwarted another infiltration attempt, arresting 22 individuals violating Hajj regulations. These individuals, holding Uzbek and Tajik nationalities, attempted to enter and remain in the Holy City of Mecca illegally by using dirt roads and rugged valleys, thus circumventing the requirement for a valid Hajj permit for the year 1447 AH. The relevant security authorities immediately detained them and took all necessary legal measures against them in accordance with the strict regulations in place during the Hajj season.

The Kingdom's historic efforts in addressing the phenomenon of Hajj violators

For decades, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has placed the safety and security of pilgrims at the forefront of its priorities. Managing millions of people in a limited geographical area and within a specific timeframe is no easy task; therefore, legislation and regulations have evolved over time to ensure the smooth organization of this great ritual. Historically, attempts to perform Hajj without a permit have placed a significant burden on the infrastructure, health services, and security allocated to authorized pilgrims. Consequently, the Saudi Ministry of Interior introduced an electronic permit system and strict controls at entry points, deploying specialized security forces to prevent any violations that might disrupt the Hajj or threaten the safety of the crowds. This has made apprehending those who violate Hajj regulations a top priority to ensure the success of the season.

The positive impact of implementing regulations at the local and international levels

The firm application of penalties against anyone who dares to violate the laws has an impact not only within Saudi Arabia but also across the entire Muslim world. Locally, this security measure helps alleviate traffic and crowd congestion, enabling government agencies to provide high-quality logistical and medical services to authorized pilgrims. Regionally and internationally, these measures reflect the Kingdom's positive image and its exceptional ability to manage crises and large crowds, sending a reassuring message to all countries sending their citizens to perform the Hajj, confirming that Saudi Arabia is a safe and organized environment capable of protecting their citizens from any risks that might arise from uncontrolled overcrowding.

Official call for cooperation and reporting of violations

In a related context, the General Directorate of Mujahideen urged all citizens and residents to fully comply with the regulations governing the Hajj season. It emphasized the importance of cooperation with relevant authorities, which is a fundamental pillar in ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims. The Directorate issued a firm warning that any violation of the regulations will subject perpetrators to severe penalties, including fines and deportation. It also called on everyone to report any individuals suspected of violating the regulations by calling the unified number (911) in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province regions, or (999) in the rest of the Kingdom, to ensure a safe and smooth Hajj season for all.
