The Alzheimer's Association participates in the Al-Ula Neuroscience Conference 2026

In a move reflecting its unwavering commitment to enhancing quality of life and raising health awareness, the Saudi Alzheimer's Disease Association is actively participating in the 4th Annual Conference of the Saudi Chapter of the Society for Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience. This prominent scientific event is being held in the historic Al-Ula Governorate from February 5-7, 2026, and is attracting a distinguished group of local and international experts and specialists in the fields of neurology, brain health, and aging.

A strategy that aligns with Vision 2030

This significant participation stems from the association's strategy to align its objectives with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs, specifically the Quality of Life Program and the National Transformation Program. Through its presence at major scientific forums, the association seeks to empower society to better manage Alzheimer's disease, not only medically but also psychologically and socially. These efforts aim to improve the lives of patients and their families through modern awareness tools, comprehensive care programs, and by contributing to the development of policies that support scientific research in this critical field.

Psychological support for caregivers: a fundamental pillar

On the scientific front, the association will enrich the conference sessions with a specialized paper presented by Professor Munira Al-Hathlool, Senior Psychologist (Therapeutic and Rehabilitation) at King Abdulaziz University Medical City. The paper, titled “The Psychological Needs of Caregivers and the Role of Psychological Support in Promoting Mental Health,” sheds light on the hidden challenges faced by patients’ families and the importance of providing a supportive environment that protects them from burnout and emotional distress, which in turn positively impacts the quality of care provided to the patient.

Art in the service of medicine: A unique sensory experience

With an innovative approach that breaks with traditional awareness campaigns, the association is participating in the conference with an art exhibition linking Alzheimer's disease to contemporary art. Her Highness Princess Madawi bint Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman, Chair of the Association's Board of Directors, stated that the participation includes installation artworks that transport visitors into the heart of an Alzheimer's patient's experience. The works include expressive sculptures and paintings such as "Hope," "New Light," "Hands on Memory," "I Need You," and "Fading Away." This sensory and visual experience aims to create a profound sense of empathy and human understanding of the patients' suffering, thereby strengthening community solidarity with them.

Strategic partnerships for a better future

In her closing remarks, Her Royal Highness Princess Madawi emphasized the importance of integration between the non-profit sector and the health and scientific sectors, praising the partnership with the Saudi Neurological Society and the Saudi Division of Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology. She also expressed her gratitude to the participating artists (Iklil Al-Faris, Muath Al-Awfi, Noura Bin Saeedan, Fahad Al-Qathami, and Abdulmalik Khanji) who dedicated their creativity to serving this humanitarian cause. The Society invites all interested individuals and families to contact them to benefit from their services by phone (0112443092) or by visiting their website and official social media accounts, ensuring that support reaches everyone in need throughout the Kingdom.
