Rain in Arar today... breathtaking scenery and the Red Crescent on high alert

The city of Arar in the Northern Borders region experienced moderate rainfall today, which helped to cool the air and create beautiful natural scenes on the streets and public squares, bringing joy and delight to residents and visitors alike. This rainfall coincided with a noticeable drop in temperatures, encouraging many citizens and residents to go out and enjoy the picturesque views created by the raindrops on the trees and green spaces.
These rains are of particular importance to the Northern Borders region, a vital grazing area in Saudi Arabia. The region's inhabitants always welcome the rainy season, as this rainfall is expected to revitalize vegetation and bring forth the wild plants and aromatic herbs for which the region is renowned during the winter and spring seasons, thus enhancing its appeal as an ecotourism destination in the coming period.
Saudi Red Crescent mobilization
In response to the weather conditions, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in the Northern Borders region announced a heightened state of readiness and maximum alert at all its ambulance centers. This proactive measure is a routine step aimed at ensuring a rapid response to any emergency that may arise from the rainy weather, whether it be traffic accidents caused by vehicles skidding or other emergencies.
The authority stressed in its statement the need for citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution. The warnings included the importance of staying away from floodplains and valleys, and avoiding low-lying areas and water accumulations that could pose a risk to life and property. It also advised driving with extreme caution and maintaining safe distances between vehicles, given the possibility of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust or strong winds that may accompany such weather fluctuations.
The authority confirmed that the operations rooms are working around the clock to receive emergency reports via the unified number (997), noting that technology plays a pivotal role in speeding up rescue operations, as it called on everyone to take advantage of the “Save Me” application and the “First Responder” application, which allow for accurate location determination and requesting immediate assistance, thus facilitating the arrival of ambulance teams to the injured as quickly as possible.
