Al-Sudais praises the efforts of volunteers in the Two Holy Mosques on the occasion of International Volunteer Day

The head of religious affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, praised the great efforts and noble sacrifices made by male and female volunteers in serving the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, stressing that their dedication embodies the highest meanings of giving and generosity.
This came in conjunction with the celebration of "International Volunteer Day," where His Excellency explained that this occasion is not just an annual event, but rather an opportunity to highlight a deep human value that is rooted in the identity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is closely linked to the system of religious and service work within the holiest of places.
Islamic values and historical heritage
Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasized that volunteer work, in its essence and objectives, represents a deeply rooted value in Islamic law and a fundamental manifestation of social solidarity. He pointed out that serving pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors is an extension of a long-standing historical legacy for which this blessed land has been known since its founding, with its citizens vying for the honor of serving the guests of God, seeking reward and recompense, and expressing the generosity of Arab and Islamic hospitality.
Volunteering and the Kingdom's Vision 2030
In discussing the strategic importance of volunteering, Al-Sudais pointed out that the high-quality work volunteers provide at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque directly contributes to the development of the religious and field services system. He explained that these efforts are a practical implementation of the directives of the wise leadership – may God protect them – which has given exceptional attention to volunteer work within the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aspires to reach one million volunteers, thus making the Two Holy Mosques a fertile and exemplary environment for achieving these ambitious national aspirations.
Empowerment and qualification for professional service
His Excellency emphasized that the Presidency of Religious Affairs gives the utmost priority to volunteering, not only by attracting volunteers, but also by empowering and training them and providing specialized training programs. These programs aim to enhance their skills and improve the quality of their work, ensuring the provision of professional services befitting the sanctity of the place and opening up broader horizons for them to serve visitors.
Sheikh Al-Sudais concluded his speech by offering thanks and prayers to the male and female volunteers, explaining that the impact of their efforts is evident daily in the courtyards and corridors of the Two Holy Mosques through integrated field services that enhance the smooth flow, tranquility and peace of mind of visitors and pilgrims, asking God to reward them with the best reward, and to perpetuate the blessing of security and faith upon the Kingdom.
