Agreement between Al-Firdous and Jawar to unify funeral services

In a pioneering step aimed at strengthening collaborative work within the non-profit sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Al-Firdaws Association in Qatif Governorate and its counterpart, Juwar Association in Al-Baha region, signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The agreement aims to unify efforts and enhance the efficiency of services provided in the field of honoring the deceased. The signing ceremony took place at Al-Firdaws Association headquarters, with Hafez Al-Faraj, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Firdaws, and Saeed Al-Zahrani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Juwar, representing both parties.

Strengthening institutional work and keeping pace with the vision

This agreement comes within the context of the developmental momentum witnessed by the third sector in the Kingdom, and in line with the objectives of Vision 2030, which urges the transformation of charitable work from individual efforts to organized institutional work. This partnership is particularly significant as it connects two geographically distant regions (the Eastern and Southern), reflecting the depth of national unity and the desire to exchange and disseminate successful experiences to serve the community in a professional manner that respects the sanctity of dealing with the deceased.

Logistical solutions for transporting bodies

The "external transport of remains" is a key pillar of this agreement, as families of the deceased often face logistical challenges when needing to transport the remains of their loved ones between regions. Under this unified protocol, a joint coordination mechanism will be launched to ensure the swift provision of transport equipped according to health and regulatory requirements, thus ending the ordeal of waiting and expediting burial procedures, thereby alleviating the psychological and financial burden on the families of the deceased.

Standardizing protocols and exchanging facilities

The agreement extended beyond logistical aspects, encompassing a reciprocal use of the two associations' service facilities to maximize asset utilization and minimize financial waste. The document, valid for one year and renewable, also stipulated the launch of a series of joint training programs and workshops. These programs aim to qualify staff and volunteers, standardize washing and shrouding protocols, and regulate emergency response, ensuring the provision of high-quality services that adhere to strict Islamic guidelines and international health standards.

This alliance represents a model to be emulated by other charitable associations in the Kingdom, as it emphasizes that integrating efforts and bridging service gaps is the best way to improve the social and humanitarian services system.
