Al-Firdous Association launches a service for transporting the deceased between regions of the Kingdom

In a significant step aimed at enhancing social and charitable services in the Eastern Province, the Al-Firdaws Association for Honoring the Deceased in Qatif Governorate launched its new strategic project today: a "transportation of the deceased between regions" service. This project aims to facilitate the procedures for transporting bodies to and from the governorate, connecting it with various regions and cities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as the capital, Riyadh, and Al-Ahsa Governorate, through its approved electronic platform.

A qualitative leap in funeral services

This project comes amidst a remarkable evolution in the Kingdom's non-profit sector, where charitable organizations are transitioning from traditional practices to organized, institutionalized operations that rely on technology and rapid response. This initiative is particularly important given the Kingdom's vast geographical expanse, where many families face significant logistical and financial challenges when a death occurs far from the deceased's residence or birthplace, making the presence of a specialized entity to handle this task essential.

Hafez Al-Faraj confirmed that the project came in response to a pressing community need to provide safe and rapid funeral transportation services that respect the dignity of the deceased. He pointed out that the service is now immediately available through the Association's online store, allowing the families of the deceased to easily request the service to cover deaths occurring outside the geographical area of Qatif, whether the transportation is from the governorate to another location or vice versa.

Human and social dimensions of the project

The importance of this project extends beyond mere logistics to encompass profound humanitarian dimensions. The initiative primarily aims to provide moral support to the families of the deceased during their most difficult times, with the association undertaking the responsibility of coordination and transportation using specially equipped vehicles. This professional intervention embodies the association's mission of offering solace and standing by the community, alleviating the burden of complex procedures during moments of grief and loss.

A comprehensive strategy and continuous development

The Al-Firdous Association, officially registered with the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development , seeks to expand its services to encompass all matters related to the deceased. Its role extends beyond transportation to include the management and maintenance of mortuaries and the development of cemeteries to ensure an organized environment befitting the sanctity of the dead, in accordance with the highest health and safety standards and Islamic guidelines.

The association's strategy also focuses on awareness and training, by raising community awareness of Islamic rulings regarding funerals and training qualified personnel to work in funeral care centers. The association also called on all members of society and business leaders to utilize and support the new project to ensure its sustainability, emphasizing that this step is part of a comprehensive system aimed at alleviating the financial and procedural burdens on bereaved families from the moment a death is announced until the burial.
