Al-Bunyan: Enhancing private sector participation in education to achieve the vision

His Excellency the Minister of Education, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, affirmed that the Ministry is moving forward in developing a flexible and attractive regulatory and legislative environment aimed at enabling the private sector to participate effectively in achieving the objectives of the education and training strategy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Bunyan's statements highlighted the strategic transformation underway in the education sector, where the government's role is no longer limited to operation alone, but focuses more on regulation and empowerment to ensure the quality of educational outcomes.

During his participation in the "Investment in Education and Training Forum," the Minister explained that the true investment is in human capital, emphasizing the Ministry's commitment to building a promising future for the nation's youth that fulfills the aspirations of the wise leadership and the hopes of Saudi families. He pointed out that this future must be built on solid foundations that combine deeply rooted values, advanced skills, and up-to-date knowledge to ensure the next generation is prepared to face the challenges of the future.

Enhancing the global competitiveness of Saudi citizens

Speaking about competitiveness, Al-Bunyan emphasized that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 has set high standards for performance, aiming to make Saudi citizens strong competitors on the international stage, not just at the local or regional levels. This approach reflects the Kingdom's desire to raise the ranking of its human capital in global competitiveness indices by equipping them with the skills required by the evolving global labor market and focusing on innovation, technology, and scientific research.

Strategic partnership with the private sector

The Minister of Education also affirmed that the Ministry is working diligently to create a suitable regulatory environment to increase the participation of the local and international private sector, as well as the for-profit sector, in the education system. This step stems from the belief that partnership with the private sector is a fundamental pillar for diversifying funding sources, transferring international expertise, and improving operational efficiency in educational and training institutions.

These efforts fall within the broader context of the Human Capital Development Program, one of the programs for achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to establish a robust and flexible education system. Through these strategies, the Kingdom seeks to transform the national economy into a knowledge-based economy, where education and training play a pivotal role in preparing human capital capable of driving sustainable development, thus enhancing the Kingdom's position as a leading investment destination in the education sector in the region.
