Al-Ahsa Education Department redirects 600 students within the pathways system
In a move aimed at enhancing educational efficiency and ensuring students' abilities align with their academic choices, the General Directorate of Education in Al-Ahsa Governorate successfully redirected the academic specialization paths of approximately 600 male and female students. This was one of the outcomes of a series of eight intensive workshops designed to accurately assess students' professional and academic aptitudes.
Workshop details and course correction
The Student Guidance Department in Al-Ahsa Education organized these specialized workshops, targeting students who faced challenges adapting to their current academic paths or whose academic results did not align with their chosen fields of study. Through standardized assessment tools and guidance sessions, students' abilities and true aptitudes were analyzed, leading to well-informed decisions to transfer 600 students to new paths better suited to their potential, thus increasing their chances of success and academic excellence.
Secondary track system: A qualitative leap in Saudi education
This educational initiative in Al-Ahsa is part of the broader implementation of the "track system" in secondary education across Saudi Arabia. This system, which replaced the traditional (science/humanities) track, aims to provide differentiated education that meets the individual needs of students. It allows students to choose from several main tracks, including: the general track, the computer science and engineering track, the health and life track, the business administration track, and the Sharia track. The process of "reorientation" or transferring between tracks is an integral part of the system's flexibility, ensuring that students do not remain in a specialization that does not suit them.

These measures gain their importance from their close connection to the Human Capital Development Program, one of the programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Through these mechanisms, the Ministry of Education seeks to bridge the gap between educational outcomes and the demands of the evolving labor market.
