The advanced Wood Badge training course for female scout leaders, organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association and hosted by the Girls' Technical College in the Jazan region, has commenced with the active participation of 38 trainees from various scouting sectors. This course will continue until next Saturday, corresponding to 7 Rajab 1447 AH, in an initiative aimed at raising the level of leadership qualifications for female scouting personnel.

Comprehensive and integrated training program

Through this qualitative study, the association aims to develop the skills of female scout leaders and refine their expertise in leading scout units with high efficiency. The program is distinguished by its combination of theoretical aspects and practical field applications, including specialized sessions that discuss the responsibilities and duties of a unit leader, her pivotal role in developing girls' capabilities, and an overview of the latest scout training methods and techniques, as well as modern leadership concepts and styles.

The training program also includes vital topics related to strategic planning, the characteristics of a successful plan, scouting curricula, and mechanisms for activating the role of scouts in community service and resource development. The program concludes with a field trip designed to apply skills in land navigation, the use of secret signs, map drawing, estimation and direction, and code-reading and message interpretation, thus fostering self-reliance and teamwork.

The importance of the wood badge in scouting work

The Wood Badge course is one of the most important leadership qualifications in the Scouting movement worldwide, representing a symbol of competence and the ability to lead and train. Earning this badge signifies a leader's transition from the initial practice stage to a professional level, enabling them to plan and manage complex Scouting programs. This course is being offered in Jazan to equip female leaders with the necessary tools to transmit Scouting values to future generations using modern educational methods.

Keeping pace with the Kingdom's vision and empowering women

The organization of this advanced study comes in the context of the great movement that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing to empower women in various fields, including volunteer work and the non-profit sector, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The female scouts play a prominent role in achieving the goal of reaching one million volunteers, by qualifying leaders capable of managing volunteer teams and participating in national seasons and serving pilgrims and Umrah performers, which reflects the great positive impact of such training programs on the local and national community.
