The Saudi Ministry of Interior has achieved a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey, with its leading electronic platform, "Absher," recording record usage rates and processing over 41 million electronic transactions in December alone. This impressive figure reflects the growing reliance of citizens, residents, and visitors on the Kingdom's digital solutions, underscoring the success of its e-government strategies.
Details of transactions via Absher Individuals and Businesses
According to official statistics, a total of 41,104,448 transactions were accurately processed. The Absher Individuals platform accounted for the lion's share of these transactions, recording 38,495,732. Notably, the digital wallet saw significant activity, with 31,884,329 digital document reviews, indicating a major shift in user behavior towards abandoning paper documents and relying on the digital identity available through the application. Meanwhile, the business sector continued its digital growth, with the Absher Business platform recording 2,608,716 transactions, reflecting the ease of doing business and completing government procedures for companies and institutions.
Most active sectors: Traffic and passports
The services provided were diverse, encompassing various sectors of the Ministry of Interior. The services of the General Directorate of Public Security topped the list with 3,638,165 transactions, the largest share of which went to the General Directorate of Traffic with 3,546,449 transactions. These transactions include license renewals, ownership transfers, and various vehicle services that are now done with the click of a button.
In a related context, the General Directorate of Passports recorded 2,311,995 transactions, facilitating travel, residency and visit procedures, while the Ministry of Interior's Civil Status Agency carried out 538,997 transactions, including issuing and renewing IDs and family records.

It's worth noting that the unified digital identity via Absher opens doors for users to access more than 500 government and private entities through the National Unified Access Portal "Nafath," thus reinforcing the concept of a connected and integrated government.
