Absher platform: 7 printable reports and conditions for changing name and renewing ID

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to achieve comprehensive digital transformation within the framework of Vision 2030, the Ministry of Interior continues to develop its electronic services to streamline procedures for citizens and residents. The "Absher" platform is the most prominent technological arm of these services, having revolutionized the way government transactions are conducted, saving time and effort and reducing the need to visit government branches.
7 official reports available for printing via Absher
The Absher platform, through its official channels and FAQ guide, has announced the availability of seven vital reports that users can view, print, and use in official procedures with various entities. This step aims to enhance data reliability and facilitate its exchange. The list includes:
- My report: This is a comprehensive report on the beneficiary's basic data.
- Family members data report: To document dependents' data.
- Vehicle Report: Shows details of vehicles registered in the beneficiary's name.
- Traffic violation report: A detailed list of recorded violations.
- Traffic Accident Report: A Historical Record of Accidents.
- Travel log data report: Shows travel movements, entry and exit.
- Domestic worker report: Concerns workers registered under an individual's sponsorship.
Regulations for renewing national identity card photos
On the other hand, in the context of regulating official documents, the Ministry of Interior's Civil Status Agency has set precise standards for personal photos when renewing the national identity card, in order to ensure the quality of the documents and their compliance with security specifications:
- The background should be completely white.
- The photo should be recent (no more than 6 months old).
- Clear facial features and the absence of exaggerated expressions or cosmetics that alter the features.
- The image should be free of ink spots or holes.
- Look straight at the camera and avoid the "red-eye" effect.
Online name change service: conditions and procedure
In a move reflecting the flexibility of its electronic services, the Civil Status Department has made it possible to change first names through the Absher platform for citizens and their family members (under 18 years of age). This service is completely free and is processed immediately for names already registered, or within 5 working days for names not registered.
Terms of Service:
- The new name complies with name registration regulations (such as the absence of prohibited nicknames or compound names).
- The name should not be similar to the name of a first-degree (living) family member.
- Parental consent is required for those under 18 years of age (unless one of them is deceased).
- No other amendment request is being processed.
- Only two edits are allowed, provided that the second edit is to revert to the previous name.
This development in electronic services reflects the government's keenness to improve the quality of life and facilitate transactions, which puts the Kingdom among the leading countries in the field of e-government.
