Study: Education levels are rising among immigrants in Europe

The study does not differentiate between those who completed their education before migrating and those who did so in Europe.
The increase aligns with the rise in higher education enrollment rates among European citizens, from 30.3% in 2017 to 37.7% in 2025.
It noted that migration is a politically sensitive issue, as the European Union intends to implement reforms aimed at reducing the number of arrivals.
Attracting skilled global labor
Meanwhile, the European Union is facing a shortage of skilled labor, and countries like Germany are aggressively trying to attract skilled international workers to help address their declining populations.
The study concluded that the figures vary considerably from country to country, with immigrants being more likely to obtain a university degree than citizens in countries including Luxembourg, Denmark, Latvia, and the Czech Republic.
