President Donald Trump on Tuesday described the refusal of several NATO to help the United States secure the Strait of Hormuz , which has been closed due to Iranian attacks and threats amid the US-Israeli war against Iran, as a “stupid mistake.” “
I think NATO is making a really stupid mistake,” Trump said in the Oval Office, after asserting on his Truth Social social network that he no longer needs allies’ help to secure this strategic waterway for the global economy.
He also asserted that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made the wrong choice by not supporting Washington in the ongoing war in the Middle East.

War against Iran

Trump stated, “He wasn’t supportive, and I think that was a big mistake. I’m upset with Kerr. I like him, and I think he’s a nice guy, but I’m upset.”
On the other hand, the US president considered the resignation of National Counterterrorism Center Director Joseph Kent in protest against a war with Iran to be “a good thing.”
Trump told reporters at the White House, “I always thought he was weak on security, very weak.” He added that when he saw his resignation statement, “I realized that he was leaving.”
