With the participation of 36 volunteers, Qatif Municipality concludes "Basta Khair" and supports the sustainability of vendors

The Qatif Governorate Municipality concluded its Ramadan initiative, " Basta Khair " (Good Deeds Stall), at the Mayyas Heritage Market, achieving significant economic and social impact by empowering street vendors.
The initiative saw active volunteer participation, enhancing the quality of life and boosting the local economy. It also witnessed increasing public interest, contributing to a surge in commercial activity and increased engagement with the offerings of local producers, food products, and traditional handicrafts.

A complete shopping experience

The municipality provided a regulatory environment conducive to an integrated shopping experience, ensuring the stability of professional vendors and meeting the needs of shoppers within modern and attractive regulatory frameworks.

Thirty-six volunteers participated in managing the field operations , ensuring the smooth flow of traffic within the market and reflecting the spirit of community solidarity in the success of development initiatives.
This initiative is an extension of the "Tamkeen" program adopted by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, which aims to transform the activities of street vendors into sustainable, regulated practices.

A model for community engagement

The Mayor of Qatif Governorate, Engineer Saleh Al-Qarni, confirmed that the initiative achieved its objectives of providing organized platforms that support the economic stability of vendors.
Al-Qarni pointed out that the "Basta Khair" initiative represents an effective model of integrated work and community partnership that serves the comprehensive development of the governorate.
The mayor revealed that the next phase will witness an expansion of initiatives supporting vendors, to solidify these experiences as development models that support national products and local markets.
Engineer Al-Qarni concluded by thanking all participating vendors and volunteers, appreciating the community's engagement that contributed to transforming the initiative into a tangible success story.
The municipality emphasized its continued commitment to developing innovative organizational solutions that enhance market efficiency and support local talent, in line with the Kingdom's vision to improve quality of life.
