The project, implemented by Kadana Development and Investment Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, included preparing the courtyards and rest areas surrounding the mosque, and raising their readiness to receive large numbers of pilgrims, in a way that supports the smooth flow of movement and enhances the use of spaces allocated for sitting and waiting during peak times.

A more comfortable and sustainable environment

The development work included planting over 2,000 trees, installing 320 umbrellas and 350 misting fans to cool the air and reduce temperatures, and adding more than 150 drinking fountains to serve pilgrims around the mosque. Rubber flooring and designated emergency and crowd management pathways were also installed, contributing to enhanced safety and ease of movement within the area.
The work also included providing shade for the eastern courtyard of the Namira Mosque, as part of a comprehensive development plan aimed at improving the urban landscape and creating a more comfortable and sustainable environment in Arafat through high-quality, sustainable projects that enrich the pilgrims' experience.
