The Kingdom is bracing for a cold air mass and a significant drop in temperatures, with the effects beginning Wednesday and continuing until Saturday, impacting eight major regions.
The polar wave will start in the north and gradually extend towards the capital and the Eastern Province, prompting official warnings to take precautions, as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing in some northern areas.
Tabuk, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, Hail, and the northern part of the Madinah region will be directly affected by this cold air mass starting mid-week.

Temperatures in the aforementioned northern regions are registering a sharp drop, with minimum temperatures ranging from 3 degrees Celsius to as low as -1 degree Celsius, indicating the possibility of frost in the early morning hours.
The cold wave's impact will extend both temporally and geographically to other areas on Friday and Saturday, moving rapidly towards the central and eastern parts of the Kingdom, covering vast areas.
The Qassim region and the northern parts of the Riyadh and Eastern regions will experience the effects of this wave over the weekend, bringing decidedly wintry conditions that require residents to prepare.

Beware of the bitter cold

Digital forecasts indicate that minimum temperatures in Qassim, northern Riyadh, and the Eastern Province will range between 3 and 4 degrees Celsius, levels considered cold and requiring heavy winter clothing.
This noticeable drop in temperatures reflects the typical weather fluctuations of January, which marks the peak of winter in the Arabian Peninsula, necessitating continuous monitoring of updates from the National Center of Meteorology.
