Imprisonment, fines, and deportation: Interior Ministry reveals mechanisms for reporting begging and the penalties

affirmed Interior that begging is prohibited in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of any justifications. Anyone who engages in begging, incites others to beg, conspires with them, or assists them in any way in this practice will be punished with imprisonment, a fine, and deportation for non-Saudis—except for the spouse of a Saudi citizen or their children—after serving their sentence.
The Ministry urged everyone to refrain from dealing with beggars or giving them money in any way, and to ensure that donations are directed to those truly in need through official charitable platforms and licensed organizations.
