Serving 388,694 beneficiaries, the Makkah Route Initiative concludes its work in 10 countries

The “Makkah Route Initiative,” implemented by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with partner agencies, served (388,694) pilgrims, and the number of flights in the initiative’s halls to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah reached (1,227) flights.
The Makkah Route Initiative contributed to providing its services through (38) station services, (60) mobile bags and (120) mobile counter devices enhanced with artificial intelligence to complete the entry procedures for each pilgrim within (40) seconds.
“Makkah Route” initiative
The initiative aims to welcome the guests of God and complete their procedures from their countries easily and conveniently, starting from issuing the visa electronically and taking biometric data, passing through completing passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure, after verifying the availability of health requirements, in addition to coding and sorting luggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom. Upon their arrival, they move directly to buses to take them to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah, via dedicated routes, while the competent authorities take care of delivering their luggage to their residences.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Interior is implementing the initiative in its eighth year in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, Media, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat and Tax Authority, Customs, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Endowments, the Guests of God Service Program, and the General Directorate of Passports, in integration with the digital partner (stc Group).
